Produced in 1952 and released in Japan in 1953, the film portrays the life of French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and the world of the Moulin Rouge in late-19th-century Paris.

This Japanese edition features a striking cover based on Toulouse-Lautrec’s Divan Japonais artwork. The lower cover is marked 有楽座 (Yurakuza) and No. 53-9, identifying it as a Japanese theater-issued edition.

The reverse features an original period Japanese Takeda Panbitan M vitamin advertisement.
