Original antique Japanese illustrated postcard depicting two dogs resting together in a snowy winter landscape, dating from the Meiji period.

The postcard is postmarked January 1, Meiji 40 (1907) and bears an original Japanese Chrysanthemum-series postage stamp, giving the card a securely datable early-Meiji postal history context.

Condition:
Antique condition with age-related toning, minor edge and corner wear, light spotting and postal handling wear. The front image remains strong and attractive, with particularly nice surviving white snow effects. The reverse retains the original stamp, cancellation and handwritten Japanese address.
